Fundraiser helps keep Chamber afloat

Chris Azzopardi

More than 600 people are expected to attend the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce's 17th Annual Meeting and Gala Auction at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Laurel Manor in Livonia.
"It's very important with economic times being so bad to help keep the Chamber running," said Melissa Paczas, administrative assistant. "Without the auction we wouldn't be able to provide all the services we do to the community and to the members."
The Chamber's major fundraiser for the year, "The Magic of Plymouth," will include hors dÕoeuvres, an open bar, a sit-down dinner and music. There will also be an auction, raffle and a 50/50 drawing.
The money from the event, besides keeping the chamber afloat, allows the association to host events such as this month's Scarecrows in the Park and Great Pumpkin Caper.
The deadline for ticket sales is Oct. 27. Tickets can be purchased by mail, fax or in person. For more information call (734) 453-1540 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
