Stabenow coasts to second term

DETROIT – U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow easily won her reelection bid, capturing over 57 percent of the vote, according to early returns. She celebrated with hundreds of enthusiastic supporters at a victory rally at the Renaissance Center on election night.
"Voters had a choice between a race to the bottom and a race to the top," Stabenow said. "Tonight the people of Michigan chose a race to the top and that's what we're going to do."
Stabenow's challenger, Republican Mike Bouchard, will return to his current job as Oakland county Sherriff.
