FERNDALE — The message of LGBT Pride is being carried bodly to Romania and Eastern Europe during May and June as part of the international outreach of the Fellowship of Metropolitan Churches.
It,’s a daring spiritual venture to places where gays are not welcome, and where it takes exceptional courage to come out.
Rev. Mark Bidwell, pastor, Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit, is issuing a call for help with donations of LGBT educational materials for this outreach program, and, importantly, transgender information and videos. He will be in Rumania representing the Fellowship.
“These items are urgently needed in a country where there is little, if any, factual and positive resource materials. We need donations of books, DVDs, videos, and masks (for those who must march in Pride parades anonymously). Transgender information is nil there. Last year 500 marched. We pray for twice that number this year. Please help.”
