Boogie Stomp!' to heat up the BoarsHead theater stage

LANSING – Join the BoarsHead in April for "Boogie Stomp!" by Bob Seeley & Bob Baldori, a sizzling show featuring two phenomenal performers playing tunes that have grown from the backbone of American music traditions. "Boogie Stomp!" is a unique musical revue, with stories and piano playing that span the history of Boogie Woogie and how it came to be. With relentless keyboard work, infectious rhythms and dizzying improvisation, both Seeley and Baldori have unparallel credentials in the Boogie genre.
The production opens Wednesday, April 18 BoarsHead Theater and runs through Sunday, April 29.
The production is not limited to Boogie Woogie, however. The two Bobs have an encyclopedic repertoire of music that forms the story foundation of the show. Jazz, Stride, Blues, Backbeat, Improvisation and Rock and Roll are all part of the musical mix.
Seeley spent his formative years playing with Meade Lux Lewis and other jazz greats in the 1950s and early 60s. Over time, he has become known as the best Boogie Woogie and stride player in the world.
"Boogie" Bob Baldori has been playing piano and harmonica with Chuck Berry since 1967. In addition to fronting his own group he has spent years playing blues, boogie and backbeat rock and roll in Chicago and Detroit.
Tickets are available now, with group packages at reasonable rates. Call the BoarsHead Box Office at 517-484 -7805 for information.
