TimeWarp, an annual AIDS benefit, will take place from 7 p.m.-midnight June 30 at The Roostertail in Detroit with Carolyn Clifford, WXYZ-TV news anchor, and Frank Taylor, president of Southern Hospitality Restaurant Group, serving as the evenings' honorary chairs.
The gala setting and decor have carried out an evocative theme each year, according to a press release, and participants' outfits have followed suit. The theme for 2007 is Senior Prom! All guests are asked to consider what they wore to their senior prom and come dressed accordingly.
Live entertainment, a prom photo-taking session, cocktails and a strolling dinner will be included, while live and silent auctions will help raise money for AIDS Partnership Michigan.
A baseball autographed by Tigers own new superstar, Justin Verlander, who recently pitched a non-hitter game (the first Tigers no-hitter since 1957) against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 12.
Locals Norm Silk and Dale Morgan are donating two tours – a before and an after – of their soon-to-be-restored Frank Lloyd house on Seven Mile in Detroit.
TimeWarp tickets can be purchased online for $125 per person (Friend) and $250 (Patron, with a swank, smart pre-party and other goodies).
