DETROIT —The Male Box Bar at 3537 E. Seven Mile Rd. was suddenly shut down July 26. The doors were padlocked, and furniture and fixtures were reportedly removed into the parking lot. According to several former employees of the bar, the bar's assets were seized by creditors, including the mortgage holder on the property and the Internal Revenue Service.
According to a message on the bar's answering machine, The Male Box is currently seeking a new location to reopen.
