Donations needed for MLK Day of Service

The Washtenaw Youth Mentoring Coalition and the Washtenaw Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network are teaming up to make January a great time to give to others.
On Jan. 19 and 20, the two organizations are asking locals to donate non-perishable and canned foods, used cell phones and clothes of all sizes to local charities in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The Day of Service is held annually on MLK Day to help give back to local communities.
Canned foods will go to the HIV/AIDS Resource Center, cell phones will go to Safe House Center, a domestic violence shelter, and all clothing will go to the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop, which supports local schools.
Materials can be dropped off at the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living, located at 3941 Research Park Drive, Ann Arbor. Drop off times are between noon and 1 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
