Samantha Ronson column 'trenchant, yet entertaining'

It was terrific how you took absolutely nothing as far as access to SamRon was concerned ("Who's that girl?" by Chris Azzopardi, Between The Lines, April 30), and still turned out a sweetly sardonic piece on her that I enjoyed reading. I guess that's why they call it "creative writing." I also believe that the greatness of one's art is, many times, defined by the limitations of that medium (canvas, film, writing, data), creating problems to be overcome by desperate creativity. It makes you approach the article from a different angle – many times a better one at that. You had zilch to work with – except her 20 mins of fame – and you spun it into a clever little diatribe on the banality of being famous by association. Trenchant, yet entertaining.

Bravo, Chris, bravo!
