Barefoot Productions and The Wilcox Foundation raise the curtain on matching grant partnership

Barefoot Productions, Plymouth's only "theatre for the community" has been awarded up to a $10,000 dollar-for-dollar matching grant from The Wilcox Foundation, retroactively beginning Oct. 15 through June 30, 2010. Dollars are earmarked to underwrite Barefoot's marketing expenses, which is the leading cost category associated with bringing performances to the stage. These expenses generally include such items as printing of programs, posters, brochures, photographs, sponsorship packets, postcards, posters, flyers, patron communications, community advertising and other publicity-related endeavors.
"Jack Wilcox had a special appreciation for community theater," explained board member Dan Herriman of The Wilcox Foundation. "We are certain he would be pleased to partner with Barefoot Productions to help ensure its long-term continued success in the Plymouth community."
Because Barefoot Productions is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) arts organization, all donations are tax-deductible and donors may request a tax receipt at the time of donation. As a nonprofit theatre, Barefoot Productions relies heavily on the good will of its patrons and donors to continue to bring theatrical productions to life on stage for the benefit of the surrounding communities. Ticket sales alone cannot subsidize the costs associated with bringing a production to the stage.
All donations earmarked with this partnership mention will be matched dollar-for-dollar by The Wilcox Foundation up to the limit of the grant. Donations may be sent and payable to Barefoot Productions, PO Box 6132, Plymouth, MI 48170. Please be certain to indicate donation is attributed toward the Barefoot/Wilcox Foundation Partnership.
