WIHAN asks for aid

The Washtenaw Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network has put out a call for financial assistance in continuing its work.
WIHAN works throughout the county to provide various types of assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS, including driving, clean up, cooking and, sometimes, just providing them with company or someone to talk to. The group also works to educate and activate local places of worphip about HIV/AIDS needs.
All work is done by volunteers, but the group has stressed a "deep need" for donations. Without incoming funds, said WIHAN leader Phil Volk, the group's doors could close by the end of January.
Checks can be sent to WIHAN at 1382 Russell Street in Ypsilanti. For more information, visit their Web site at http://www.wihan.org.
