Trevor Thomas submits signatures to get on ballot

GRAND RAPIDS –
The campaign for openly-gay Democratic congressional candidate Trevor Thomas took another step forward when the campaign submitted 2,000 confirmed signatures last week – well above the 1,000 required – for the Michigan Secretary of State to officially secure his spot on the ballot.
"I am so proud of our team as this important step shows our grassroots support from all corners of the district and our campaign's momentum as we move forward to the primary this August and then on to the November election," said Thomas, Democratic candidate for Michigan's 3rd District.
Thomas will face Steven Pestka, a former Michigan House member, in the August primary. The winner will go on to face incumbent, conservative Republican Justin Amash.
