MotorBall 2014, the party surrounding Motor City Pride every year, celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend. Kicking off the ball is the official opening party, "Accelerate," for the New Menjo's Complex featuring legendary Detroit icon, DJ Chad Novak. The no cover event starts at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at 928 W. McNichols, Detroit.
The weekend continues with MotorBall 2014 this Saturday, June 7. Presented by Geared for Life at Large and Wink Detroit, the main MotorBall event is Motor City Pride's official after party. Seven hours of dancing, partying and four DJs including DJ Jace and DJ Stacey Hotwaxx Hale will fill the night. MotorBall begins at 9 p.m. at St. Andrews Hall, 431 E. Congress St., Detroit. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
Festivities roll into Sunday, June 8 with Tea Dance on the Riverfront hosted by DJ Chuck Arida from noon to 6 p.m. MotorBall and Motor CIty Pride official ends with the Closing Party at 9 p.m. at Club Gold Coast, 2871 E. Seven Mile Road, Detroit. DJ Marquis Detroit will spin all night.
