SOUTHFIELD – With the start of the new year and a new Michigan legislative term, newly elected members for the state have begun swearing in for the 2015 cycle.
Jeremy Moss, openly gay Michigan State Representative-Elect for the 35th District consisting of Southfield, is to host his swearing in ceremony at 7 p.m. on Jan. 5 inside the City Council Chambers at Southfield City Hall and has opened up the event to the public.
Southfield Councilman Kenson Silver will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, which will include remarks by Southfield Acting Mayor Donald Fracassi and outgoing 35th House District State Rep. Rudy Hobbs. Southfield City Clerk Nancy L.M. Banks will officiate. A reception with light hors d'oeuvres in the main lobby will follow the event.
