BREAKING: Affirmations Executive Director Announces Departure

In February, Affirmations Community Center announced that Darrious Hilmon would become the new executive director after a year-long search concluded. Hilmon began his tenure in late March and with less than seven months on the job, announced in a press release today that he would be departing effective Jan. 1, 2016.
The press release indicated that the Board of Directors "has begun the process to identify an Interim Executive Director to ensure that the Center has strong leadership after Mr. Hilmon's departure."
In the release, Board President Frank Aiello said, "Darrious has brought a fresh perspective and ideas to the Center, including a greater focus on outcomes-based programming. He led the development of some exciting new initiatives, including the XTL (Cross the Lines) Youth Leadership Development, and XTL Youth Workforce Development programs, and the Affirmations L.E.A.D. Institute. Darrious also strengthened our ties to the corporate community in the metro Detroit area. We are excited to watch and support the work of some talented new staff members that were hired during his tenure."
