Study Seeks Gay And Bisexual Men Who Have Experienced Stigma & Intimate Partner Violence

BY BTL STAFF

Wesley Harris, an undergraduate student at East Tennessee State University, is conducting a study about the effect of stigma on intimate partner violence (IPV) reporting. With this study, Harris hopes to contribute to the understanding of the experiences of men who have sex with men that experience domestic violence.
The survey can be accessed at https://goo.gl/RtNY4d.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the United States and identify as nonheterosexual (e.g. homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, questioning, etc.) male. Participant confidentiality will be maintained to the degree permitted by the technology used. Specifically, no guarantees can be made regarding the interception of data sent via the Internet by any third parties. The survey collects sensitive data about participant's sexuality and their possible exposure to intimate partner violence. The questions may cause some participants to recall emotionally painful periods in their life or to relive particular moments that may cause distress. Contribution to this study is completely voluntary and participants may end their participation at any time.
