Trump Tangles With White Supremacy Support

Donald Trump has been dogged for failing to immediately reject support from the KKK. In an interview with ABC's Jake Tapper Sunday, Trump was asked about David Duke, the former leader of the KKK, and his endorsement. He was also asked about the support he was receiving from white supremacist groups. Trump declined to condemn the groups, or reject Duke's endorsement, until he had more information. Later in the day he rejected Duke's endorsement and the KKK. But social and traditional news media ran with the story.
Meanwhile, Dennis Lennox, a former drain commissioner in northern Michigan, has announced — according to Politico — that despite organizing for Ted Cruz in various U.S. territories last year, he is now backing Trump. Lennox used to lead the Central Michigan University Young Americans for Freedom student group which was closely associated with Michigan State University's student group of the same name. The MSU chapter was named a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2007, and its former leader, Kyle Bristow, has gone on to become a leading white nationalist voice. Lennox was often in attendance at anti-immigrant and other programs hosted by the MSU chapter.
