FERNDALE –For eight hours a day, three days a week for four months, Kyle Taylor volunteered his time at Affirmations in Ferndale as the development coordinator.
"If Affirmations needed something outside his regular hours, Kyle offered additional assistance, including evenings and weekends," said executive director Susan Erspamer.
As a result, Taylor was hired to continue his work as the development coordinator full-time.
"Kyle is a very energetic, friendly, dedicated, skilled, compassionate person with an exceptional work ethic," said Erspamer. "The value he brings to Affirmations is tremendous, making the decision an easy one."
Taylor assists with fundraising opportunities, event planning, manages social media and keeps the Affirmations website up-to-date with relevant content, among other duties. Between The Lines learned more about Taylor in the monthly newsletter distributed by Affirmations. Taylor answered a few questions, giving the community an opportunity to get to know him better.

The center is here for everyone. It's welcoming, inclusive and safe for the community.

My grandma's sauce on spaghetti – the best.
Why do you do this work?
I believe that Affirmations' message needs to be out there in a big way – more people need to know what the center does.

I have a long-haired Calico named Lana. I adopted her from a friend three years ago.
