Betsy DeVos: Stand with LGBTQ Students

By |2017-01-14T09:00:00-05:00January 14th, 2017|Michigan, News|

On Jan. 17 Betsy DeVos will appear before the U.S. Senate Committee on Heath, Education, Labor, and Pensions for her confirmation hearing as President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be the next U.S. Secretary of Education. This is a critical hearing for the community and for everyone that cares about equality and the well-being of students in this country. If confirmed, DeVos will have tremendous influence over policies that impact the health and safety of LGBTQ students across America every day. It’s critically important that the next Secretary of Education stand up unequivocally for LGBTQ students.
Equality Michigan is asking for the community’s help to call upon Betsy DeVos to clarify her position on LGBTQ issues, including the inhumane practice of so-called conversion therapy. Please, sign EQMI’s petition and share with friends and family to do the same. Americans deserve to hear directly from DeVos on where she stands. Together, we can make that happen.
