FERNDALE-
Affirmations announced Monday it has received a total of $540,000 in contributions and planned collections for its $1.25 million pledge campaign, Campaign for the Future. "The campaign is really starting to pick up steam at this point," said George Westerman, campaign chair and a former board president of Affirmations. "There is a clear feeling of enthusiasm and hope about the future."
According to Kevin Howley, Affirmations' interim CEO, funds collected under the campaign are being deployed immediately.
"Of the total collected, $200,000 was applied to our outstanding mortgage, $100,000 was used for amounts owed to vendors from previous periods and $50,000 was used toward outstanding obligations for grants previously received."
Affirmations hopes to reach its pledge goal for the Campaign for the Future by December 2011.
