Benefit show to aid teen shelters

LANSING – On Nov. 9, Club 505 will host a benefit for local teen shelters, Crossroads and Higher Ground. Crossroads is a transitional living and homeless youth shelter for minors of all genders between 16 and 20. Higher Ground works with youth between the ages of 10 to 17. Both shelters provide a safe and secure place for the youth, offering assistance with counseling services, crisis intervention, medical treatment, and HIV testing and counseling and prevention. Both shelters have seen a reduction in state funding this year, and this benefit will help them continue the services they provide for homeless and troubled youth.
There will be donation bins for nonperishable food, canned goods or personal items as well as unopened T-shirts, underwear and socks. For more information on the services provided by the shelters, visit their website at www.gatewayservices.org or by calling 517-351-4000.
The benefit's $5.00 cover will go directly to the teen shelters. You must be 21+ with pictured ID. For show information call Club 505 at 517-374-6312. Club 505 is located at 505 E. Shiawassee in Lansing.
