Big Three proponents of diversity

Dear BTL,
I am commenting on your cover story about the Big Three's donation to Affirmations. Their contribution joins their decades-long list of contributions to Detroit's arts organizations.
Ford, GM, and DaimlerChrysler are proponents of diversity. That is reflected in their contributions to Affirmations. However, their longstanding history of being the major contributor to the arts in Detroit bears mentioning here. In light of the fact that organizations such as Michigan Opera Theatre and the Detroit Opera House would not have achieved their stature without the Big Three, all persons of diversity owe a huge round of applause to the stalwarts of Detroit philanthropy. However, the Big Three obviously know that with that diversity comes creativity; that which permits the Big Three to retain their status at the forefront of their industry.
