Dear BTL,
Terriffic article in last week's issue ("The community that works together stays together, LGBT organizations in Michigan team up for non-profit training"). It's always a pleasure to read about the constructive actions within the LGBT community to build stronger ties among our organizations. Positive relationships between our organizations strengthen the LGBT community as a whole.
BUT – another significant fact should be noted.
The training was made possible through a grant from The HOPE Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan. The HOPE Fund supports programs and projects that serve the LGBT community of southeastern Michigan. Since 1994, the philanthropic efforts of the HOPE Fund have funded many programs that address our unmet community needs, helped to strengthen organizational infrastructure and established an endowment for the long term growth and future of our community.
Congratulations to Kathleen Russell, Executive Director of Project YES for
submitting her progressive grant proposal to the HOPE Fund. Congratulations also are in order to the many HOPE Fund donors whose generous contributions make beneficial programs, like this one, possible.
