The 6th Annual Gospel and Soul celebration is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept.20 with the promise of a “Motown Celebration.” A free concert will start at 5 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, with soul food tasting immediately following the concert. Featured speakers include Dr. Renee McCoy, Donna Payne, associate diversity director of the Human Rights Campaign and Rev. Darlene Franklin who will offer the benediction.
Performers include Zjai Renai, Sundva Kollie, Voices of Praise – Full Truth Choir, Felix & Paula Sirls, MCCD Choir Choir, Detroit Together Men’s Chorus and Rev. Ortheia Barnes, with libations offered by Antoenette Foster.
Everyone is welcome to this free event.
Zion Lutheran Church is located at 143 Albany St. in Ferndale.
