Emotions Anonymous to meet at Affirmations

FERNDALE Ð Emotions Anonymous is forming a new chapter that will meet at Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Emotions Anonymous offers a twelve-step program, similar to that of Alcoholics Anonymous, to help people cope with stress in daily living and to live a healthier emotional life. With over 1,200 chapters across 39 countries, EA is not affiliated with any other organization. The program is open to anyone who has a desire to become emotionally well. Members attend for various reasons, among them depression, anxiety, relationship problems and other emotional difficulties.
Everyone is welcome. Refreshments and light snacks are provided. There are no dues or fees required to attend. The chapter leader, Michael K said, "I am very pleased to be able to start a chapter of EA for our LGBT community. One of the EA traditions allows for specially focused groups where other LGBT members can comfortably share similar experiences."
Affirmations is located at 195 W. Nine Mile Road in Ferndale. For more information contact Michael K at 313-550-5645 or [email protected].
