Grammy-nominated musician to perform live in Detroit Oct. 15

DETROIT – Grammy-nominated Meshell Ndegeocello strums into town to perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Music Hall in Detroit.
Ndegeocello, acclaimed out singer/songwriter, is adept in playing multiple instruments. The songstress, a Washington, DC native who initially signed to Madonna's Maverick record label in 1992, has lived up to being a maverick. Seventeen years later, she continually delivers politically, socially and sexually provocative lyrics. While some have credited Ndegeocello with starting the "neo-soul" movement, her music and performances often spill outside the genre.
On the heels of the release of her ninth studio album, "Devil's Halo," Urban Organic will present the acclaimed vocalist to metro Detroit fans. The album will be available in stores next week.
Tickets are $27. For more information, call 313-887-8501 or visit http://www.musichall.org.
