HOPE Fund Committee Members Howard Israel, Henry Grix Honored for Fundraising Work

Longtime community philanthropists Howard Israel and Henry Grix were honored this month by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Detroit Chapter for their work with the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, The HOPE Fund and more. In particular, the HOPE Fund works to respond to the needs of the LGBTQ community in Southeast Michigan and has in 2020 alone allotted $200,000 worth of grants to five leading organizations. Both Grix and Israel were nominated by the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan.

"Howard and Henry have been involved since the creation of The HOPE Fund, and have continued to provide leadership as we continue to grow and plan for the future of our work," the Community Foundation said via press release. "We are proud to share that they were named the recipients of The Edmund T. Ahee Jewel Award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser during the Association of Fundraising Professionals for Greater Detroit's National Philanthropy Day for 2020."
