Leslie Thompson, Executive Director of Affirmations Lesbian and Gay Community Center addresses the crowd at the 2003 National Coming Out Day Speak Out on October 11. The Speak Out is a public forum hosted by Affirmations for people to tell their coming out stories. National Coming Out Day was founded on October 11, 1988 to celebrate the first anniversary of the 1987 March on Washington. The 2003 Speak Out included music by the One Voice Choir as well as special guest speakers Ruthie and Connie, who are the stars of a recent documentary about their life called "Ruthie and Connie: Every Room in the House."
