Passionate about marriage

Dear BTL,
Well, here we go again with yet another opinion about the "Gay Marriage Thing." What I find most interesting about this whole ridiculous mess, is that those who supposedly support the proposed amendment with such passion testify to the hearing committee, give their "weak" opinion, and then don't stay around for the question and answer session following their testimony. One wonders:
A) Are they really that passionate about it?
B) Is this whole thing merely politically motivated in an election year?
C) Is the Right-Wing vote really that important to the Republicans? Is that the only small interest group they have left to which to appeal? Hmmmmm!
