Pentagon issues order to stop DADT

The Pentagon will begin accepting applications from gays and lesbians and it will also stop separating gay soldiers under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
A memo issued Friday to the secretaries of military departments directs the to comply with a July 1 court ruling. A federal appeals court ruled that DADT is unconstitutional and should immediately cease to be enforced.
Formal appeal of DADT is still set for later this summer as military departments prepare and train personnel.
