PFLAG Detroit announces scholarship program

The Board of Directors of PFLAG-Detroit announced Monday their 2nd annual scholarship program. Each year three $500 college scholarships are awarded to students who have shown support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender individuals or programs.
A student may nominate himself or herself for the award. When making these awards PFLAG-Detroit will not discriminate against any individual based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
Scholarship forms are available through the PFLAG Detroit website at www.pflagdetroit.org or through e-mail at [email protected]. The form is a single page to describe how the nominee demonstrated support for GLBT individuals or programs and is limited to 300 words or less.
Please note, the applicant's home address must be in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties.
Nominations must be submitted by January 31 of each year and awards will be made by March 31 annually.
