Rainbow House needs help

By Dawn Wolfe Gutterman

YPSILANTI – They have the volunteers. They have a family in need.
Now, all the Rainbow House Project needs is more money.
Twenty-one thousand dollars' worth, to be exact.
"With the amount we have raised so far we can do the exterior, the roof, the windows, the doors – essentially make it a sealable structure. Until we raise the final $21,000 we won't be able to do the interior work and the finishing," said Nicole Appleberry, co-chair of Rainbow House. "If we have a gap in building we could lose that momentum."
Appleberry said that more fund-raisers are in the planning stage.
Rainbow House is the second LGBT-sponsored Habitat for Humanity house in the country and the first in Michigan. Building on the project began in June. When finished, the house will be home to a single mother with four children.
