The Michigan Women's Commission is co-sponsoring the Michigan Women's Summit 2005: Challenges to Equity. The Summit is part of an effort by leading women's organizations across Michigan to kick off a statewide women's public education campaign on the benefits of equal opportunity initiatives in Michigan, with special focus on affirmative action programs and the positive effect they have on women.
The Summit will bring together women from all over the state on Friday, March 11, in three regional locations linked by satellite: East Lansing, Dearborn, and Kalamazoo. The summit will feature national and state speakers including women presidents from the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Western Michigan University and Lake Superior State University to discuss the status of women in Michigan and the future.
This event is being sponsored by the Michigan Women's Commission, Michigan League of Women Voters, Michigan Business and Professional Women, American Association of University Women of Michigan, Michigan Council of the YWCAs, National Council of Jewish Women, National Women's Political Caucus, and the Michigan Conference – National Organization for Women.

The Michigan Women's Summit 2005: Challenges to Equity will be held Friday, March 11 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Onsite registration is $25 ($15 for students). Lunch will be provided.
