Retired racing greyhounds work the runway for their cause

GARDEN CITY – Join the fun as "Super Models" of the four-legged kind, strut down the runway to help ex-racing greyhounds find their way from the racetrack to a loving home in Retired Greyhounds as Pets (ReGAP), 3rd Annual Greyhound Fashion Show, Dinner & Auction gala. This year elegant greyhounds share the runway with "other-breed" friends to model ReGAP's original dog coat fashions, at 5:30 p.m., March 6 at St. Dunstan's Church Hall, at 1515 Belton Street in Garden City.
Admission is a donation of $50 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. All proceeds go directly to the rescue, fostering, and medical care of rescued greyhounds. Printable invitations are at http://www.rescuedgreyhounds.com.
According to Greyhound Protection League (GPL), a national greyhound advocacy organization, more than 19,000 racing greyhounds are killed each year.
