From July 28 through Aug. 2, campers ages 13 to 17 are invited to a welcoming trangender and gender non-conforming space to camp, do activities and connect with others at Trans/Gender Diverse Camp. The Camp is put on by Transcend the Binary — an organization created by and for transgender people dedicated to providing comprehensive health care.
"Create friendships that last a lifetime and build a community in a safe space! Experience a beautiful lakeside while enjoying boating, hiking, movie nights, art and games with new friends," said event organizers. "Our inclusive camp will also offers resources and help with things such as navigating relationships and self-empowerment."
The camp counselors present are community members who will also be working as peer advocates who can "offer personalized support." Any campers who need assistance with funding or transportation are invited to contact organizers during registration by visiting camptalahi.org.
