A kick-off party for Steppin' Out and AIDS Walk Detroit will be held Aug. 20 at Pronto! restaurant. The event will take place all day and will feature Steppin' Out staff and board members who will be handing out information, selling raffle tickets for great prizes and passing out AIDS Walk Detroit swag.
They will also be signing people up for this year's AIDS Walk Detroit, which will take place Sept. 20 in Royal Oak.
Pronto! is located at 608 S. Washington in Royal Oak. A portion of the day's proceeds from the restaurant will be donated to AIDS Walk Detroit, so visitors are encouraged to stay for lunch or dinner, too.
In addition, Steppin' Out is looking for volunteers to help with several upcoming events related to AIDS Walk Detroit.
The first is a mailing, held at 6-8 p.m. Aug. 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Royal Oak.
The second event volunteers are needed for is the Step Inside the Box fundraiser, held Sept. 12 at ZMC Pharmacy in Royal Oak. Several volunteers are needed in the such areas as food service, registration and more.
And, of course, volunteers are needed to help with registration, safety, water tables and other positions for AIDS Walk Detroit 2009.
