Mid-Michigan dons its gay apparel

SAGINAW – Holiday cheer and active bidding mixed to make a beautiful event to benefit Perceptions, the mid-Michigan LGBT community group. About 130 people joined the festivities at the Montague B&B near downtown Saginaw Dec. 16.
The event included a silent and live auction. Auctioneer Terry Wedner got the crowd to raise over $5,000 from the live auction, and the silent auction netted a similar amount.
"This is the best turnout we've had for this event," said a pleased but tired Beth Rakestraw, one of the event organizers and a Perceptions board member.
Perceptions offers educational, social and networking opportunities for residents of Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw, and Tuscola Counties. For more info go to http://www.perceptionssv.org.
