Gwen's story opens minds

Pride Source
Opinions Gwen Araujo

Dear BTL,
I just finished watching "A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story," and I must say I was appalled. It even made me cry. It was absolutely HORRIBLE what they did to Gwen. She did not deserve that at all. It made me realize for the first time in my life that it is not for me to judge people who choose to change their gender. God created man equally and that means everyone. I'm disappointed with myself that it took this long and a story like this to make me realize that. I would like to apologize to every person I ever scrunched my face at or said something about because they chose to change their gender. Think about it this way: if someone has the right to have an unborn child killed and murdered, why is it so wrong for one to change his or her own gender?
