NGLTF director to address InterPride Conference in Dearborn

DEARBORN
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Executive Director Matt Foreman will give the keynote speech at the InterPride Regional Conference taking place from March 9-11 at the Doubletree Hotel in Dearborn.
Foreman's address will mark the first time a nationally recognized leader in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality movement has appeared at a regional InterPride Conference.
InterPride is the national organization which serves pride festival organizers worldwide. March's Regional Conference will host pride festival organizers from states including Michigan, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Missouri, Iowa and North and South Dakota. In addition to hearing from Foreman and from Sean Kosofsky, director of policy for Triangle Foundation, conference participants will take part in workshops on topics ranging from film festival production to volunteer management.
Foreman said he chose to address the Conference because of the importance of pride events to the LGBT community. More than 30 million people worldwide attend pride events every year.
Triangle Foundation, which is hosting the conference, has been a member of InterPride for seven years, during which time the organization has been producing Motor City Pride in downtown Ferndale. This year's Motor City Pride is scheduled for Sunday, June 3.
