ACLU attorney Jay Kaplan is right, we DO need to rally at the capitol! Everyone should be aware that the Michigan Supreme Court is composed of Federalist Society members, extreme reactionaries who have decimated civil law in Michigan over the last 25 years. We should not hope that they will uphold domestic partner benefits. A massive outpouring from the LGBT communities and state workers, city workers, and allies from around Michigan is what is needed. We MUST show that we are willing to struggle, that the LGBT community will not let these hard-won gains go without a fight.
