Moscow Pride and have sent a letter of intent to the International Olympic Committee and the Russian Olympic Committee informing them there will be a “Pride House” at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The first such house appeared at the Olympics in Vancouver this year.
“We believe that we have to continue this tradition in Sochi after Vancouver and London,” said leading Moscow activist Nikolai Alekseev. “The Olympics are regularly attended by hundreds of gay and lesbian athletes who are forced to hide their sexual orientation by fear of the damages it could make on their career.”
