LANSING-
The Michigan Gay Officers Action League awarded two members with honors this month.
The Ally of the Year award went to Heather McDonald, a police officer at the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety.
The LGBT Professional of the Year award went to Detective Michelle Bryant at the Lansing Police Department.
MI-GOAL was established in 2010 and is an affiliate chapter of LEGAL International. MI-GOAL exists to advocate for the equal treatment of Michigan's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender law enforcement, public safety, corrections and criminal justice professionals, and their non-gay allies.
