FERNDALE — Two full-time positions have opened up at Affirmations in Ferndale. The LGBT community center is looking to fill two full-time positions for Facilities Associate and Director of Development.
Applicants interested in the Facilities Associate position must be available to work a staggered and flexible schedule. Essential functions of the job include reporting to the Director of Operations, being responsible for maintaining the building and keeping it clean and orderly and must have at least a high school diploma, excellent verbal skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work independently in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Applicants interested in the Director of Development position must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and three years experience working in a supervisory role. They will be responsible for implementing the annual development plan; monitoring forecast annual, quarterly and monthly proposal submissions; secure financial support; cultivate relationships with major donors; monitor partner benefits/recognition; serve on senior management team; oversee the center's fundraising of special events and manage duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director. Those interested in this position must hold strong competency in Microsoft Office as well as provide a proven track record in the cultivation, solicitation and closing of individual corporate and foundation gifts.
