The LGBT center has assigned a ten-person committee to help find a new executive director. The diverse committee consists of board members, staff, volunteers and supporters of the metro Detroit LGBT community.
The committee hired Evergreen Executive Source, LLC, a search firm in New Jersey, to advertise the position and screen potential candidates. The firm has experience in placing directors of LGBT agencies.
The firm is conducting the nationwide search for a $7,000-$10,000 fee. Search firms usually charge between $30,000 and $50,000 to find worthy candidates for executive director positions.
The committee plans to interview candidates in January, and hopes to have the new director start April 1.
