AJ O'Neil's Cafe opens in Ferndale

FERNDALE – A new cafe and coffeehouse just opened in the heart of downtown Ferndale. Owned by a gay couple, AJ O'Neil's offers fresh brewed coffee and an eclectic menu.
Their Grand Opening party April 28 starts at 5 p.m. with a performance by the Detroit Together Men's Chorus. "I sing in the chorus, too," said co-owner and cafe namesake, AJ O'Neil. "I am so excited to open up in Ferndale – it's a dream come true."
The party will continue with performances by the band Some Kinda Jones, and DJ Mizz Chavez will spin her funky house music. Folk singers Michelle O'Neil and Jeremy St. John will do a set, rounding out a varied evening that is intended to reach out to everyone and anyone.
There will be complimentary samples of their coffees and of their signature taco treats. O'Neil'os co-owner and life partner, Branden Reeves, is the coffee wizard and chef.

AJ O'Neil's Cafe is located at 240 W. Nine Mile Rd. and is open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (later on the weekends).
