Holland is Ready recognized

HOLLAND –
Holland is Ready, the group that sought to have an inclusive civil rights ordinance passed last year, was the recipient of the City of Holland Social Justice Award presented at the Jan. 15 meeting of the city council. Accepting the award was Rev. Jennifer Adams, who said it was ironic that they received this award even though they were unsuccessful in getting the ordinance passed. "We might in fact be the only group ever – who in one sixth-month time period were first denied the rights we requested and were then celebrated by the City for our efforts in seeking those rights," she said.
