New MAC site opens in Detroit

DETROIT –
The Michigan AIDS Coalition has a new site in Detroit, located at 18 Bethune St. near West Grand Boulevard and Woodward Ave.
The new site will house several of MAC's programs, including Young Brothers United, MPowerment Detroit, food distribution and general HIV counseling and testing.
"We are extremely excited about our new Detroit space," said MAC CEO Helen Hicks. "Conveniently located near major bus lines, we are hopeful that more young gay men will be able to access our facility. We are anxious to reach out to all who need a safe space and whose interests lie in becoming leaders in the community." The new space is also strategically situated near Youthville and several Detroit High Schools.
The funding for the Detroit space comes primarily from the State of Michigan and the Arcus Fund.
