As summer ends and fall approaches, LGBTQ community center Affirmations is gearing up for its annual Fall Fling celebration fundraiser. The event is presented by the Masco Corporation and will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 7 to 10 p.m.
"Join us in support of Affirmations for an evening filled with live entertainment, hors-d'oeuvres, drinks, desserts, a raffle and silent auction with fantastic prizes for you to win," write event organizers. "The event is 21+ and costume optional, otherwise, casual attire is acceptable. (Those in costume will be entered into a special raffle.)"
Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Affirmations' many services to the LGBTQ community like its youth programs, Health and Wellness services, support groups and more. In addition to the support from Masco, corporate sponsors include Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Blue Cross Complete of Michigan, Ally Bank, Bank of Ann Arbor, Citizens Bank, Comerica, DTE Energy, MGM Grand Detroit, Nancy Cummins and WWRP Law.
Tickets are $75 per person. Affirmations is located at 290 W. 9 Mile Road in Ferndale. More information about the event and Affirmations' various services can be found online at goaffirmations.org.
