Lansing Lugnuts Host Pride Night Baseball Game

For sports fans all across the U.S., spring just isn't the same without the start of baseball season. The Lansing Lugnuts baseball team recognizes this and wants to make a stand for an inclusive season for all its fans, so on Friday, May 18, fans are invited for Pride Night.

The game against the Bowling Green Hot Rods will go as planned, but the LanSINGout Gay Men's Chorus will lead the national anthem as well as the seventh inning stretch. Lansing Lugnuts Manager of Fan Engagement Mikaela Higgins said that the game will be unique for another reason as well.

"LGBTQ groups and organizations will be at the game providing information on how to join and get involved with their organizations," Higgins said.

In addition, this first-ever event is encouraging other local LGBTQ organizations to reach out if they would be interested in doing community outreach at the event.

"This is the Lugnuts very first Pride Night and we are so proud to be hosting," Higgins said. "The Lugnuts want to provide a fun, friendly and inclusive atmosphere to all fans."

Tickets start at $8 and more information can be found by following this link: gaybe.am/Aw. Interested LGBTQ organizations should reach out to [email protected].
