An event sponsored by Between The Lines and The Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce, On The Menu: Business and the Brain is designed to "uplift" the LGBTQ and allied communities through regular meetings.
"Topics of the event will span from a wide range that have been curated by the feedback from our chamber member population," write event organizers. "With the goal in mind to have equitable opportunities in this vast global economy. Please join us for the third Breakfast on Nov. 14 at 7 a.m. with our speaker Joe Kort, psychotherapist, coach and author."
Attendees will learn how Kort grew his practice and how he's been able to manage a work-life balance since creating his own business in 1985. He specializes in "gay affirmative psychotherapy, emphasizing how being knowledgeable about gay issues informs the therapeutic process and IMAGO Relationship Therapy, a specific program to help couples and singles learn to improve their communication and relationship skills."
Kort primarily deals with sex therapy and sexual identity issues that include out-of-control sexual behavior; responsible non-monogamy/monogamy; childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse; mixed-orientation marriages; coming out; and depression and anxiety. Kort also offer workshops for both couples and singles of any sexual orientation.
